This o-ring replaced Ducati OEM part number 886.4.001.1A and seals the cam end caps to the heads on desmoquattro models: 996, 916, 888, 851, 748, S4, ST4. Our Viton Fluoroelastomer O-Rings are best of practice recommended for use on engines and are rated to 400°F; further, these o-rings surface are more resistant to damage than standard BUNA / Nitrile o-rings. Removing the cam end cap on the belt side (with the cam) makes it a little easier to adjust the valves on these models. Some people remove all the cam end caps while other people only remove 4 for them and patiently feed the camshaft out of the right side of the engine.
